India continued its impressive campaign at the Commonwealth Games 2026 as star boxers Preeti Pawar and Ankush Panghal advanced to the finals of their respective weight categories, assuring the country at least two silver medals.
In the Women's 54kg semifinal, Preeti Pawar delivered a commanding performance to defeat Zambia's Catherine Mwape by a unanimous 5-0 decision. Displaying excellent footwork and sharp combinations throughout the bout, Preeti booked her place in the final, where she will face Canada's Scarlett Delgado tomorrow.
In the Men's 80kg semifinal, Ankush Panghal also produced a dominant display, defeating Canada's Joshua Ofori by a unanimous 5-0 verdict to secure his place in the gold medal match.
With these victories, India's medal tally at the Commonwealth Games 2026 has risen to 17 medals, including 3 Gold, 9 Silver and 5 Bronze.
